The Sharing and Caring Community Employment Project has been running out of the Cumann Iosaef centre for the past fourteen  years. This is a FAS funded project and the  participants are engaged in a range of duties that includes work as: carers, outreach workers, crèche assistants, administration and maintenance worker (45).

The crèche assistants work in the busy Cumann Iosaef Centre crèche. Carers and outreach workers work in tandem on an outreach service for the elderly. The outreach workers take part in painting and clean up jobs (in the local area) while carers provide a daily visitation service, and do shopping and light housework tasks. Sharing & Caring participants are also located in St.Patricks’ Bungalows and Baile Mhuire.  An important component of the outreach work is the feedback of information on the particular needs of service users. These needs can then be provided for, either from within the Cumann Iosaef organisation itself, or through other voluntary and statutory bodies.
